We left the Lockhaven parking lot at 8:20 this morning eager and ready for our trip. We said goodbye to our wonderful neighbors who wished us well. At 8:25 we were back in the parking lot since the trusty navigator forgot the AAA Travel Guides and maps. We loaded up again and then Jimmy spent a few minutes trying to get the windshild wipers to quit squeaking (which didn't work to well).
Our first day was a very wet, windy one. Jimmy had to really concentrate just to keep the van on the road. We arrived in Roseburg around 4:00 and decided to spend the night. Since it was so cold, wet, and windy our first night is being spent in a nice motel room. Tomorrow we most likely will head for the California coast.
